Leaving Minden, we decide to take Highway 88 to San Jose and meet some friends the night before we ride to Cambria. Highway 88 takes us passed Kirkwood Ski Resort, Silver Lake, and Caples Lake on the way over the Sierra.
Silver Lake is still mostly covered with ice.
Maria and I ride over the snow covered passes.
Arriving in Jackson, we grab lunch at a local Mexican restaurant, then continue on our way. The ride to Stockton is nice, but then it turns to combat commuting from Stockton until we reach our destination in San Jose.
Arriving in San Jose, we meet up with Deb and Dean, who have flown in from Denver, and we proceed to the pub for a pre-ride dinner. Great times and good fellowship abound.
Leaving the pub, we spy this nicely modified air head. I'm really digging the mods on this bike.
Clip on bars, aftermarket shocks, modified headlight.
The next morning, we meet at Dave's for the ride to breakfast at the obligatory Starbucks. Here's Deb's rental: an R1200ST. The sidecases look like they've been ejected several times at speed.
