Friday night dinner in Castroville. Home of the Artichoke festival.
Dave Taylor and Bob Rasters eating their fill of meat.
Saturday morning, we get to the racetrack and check out the sights. I get the requisite t-shirt, then we spin through the BMW booth. I guess it was just a matter of time before someone "bling-ed" the S1000RR. BMW's rarely get this treatment.
A more typical S1000RR.
Laguna Seca Raceway ... Turns 1, 2, 3, 4, which make up the lower jaw, throat, and roof of mouth of the T-Rex going "RAWR."
After checking out the booths, we hear the call for practice ... and the bikes start to roar. We head up the hill towards turn 6 and then on to the corkscrew.
Repsol Honda taking Turn 6. The nose of T-Rex.
American riders in MotoGP.
Wheeling out of turn 6, heading for the corkscrew.
The exit from the corkscrew.
Some interesting bikes ... not my cup of tea, but I do appreciate the effort in crafting your own ride.
Brats and Hot Links ... lunch befitting a man event.
A naked S1000RR. Ohhhkayyyyy.
Cannery Row in Monterrey. John Steinbeck wouldn't believe it if he saw it with his own eyes.
Rob checking the scene.
Big $$$$$$$$ here.
Sunday morning practice, turn 2.
I've never seen a helicopter do rolls or loops ... until today. Zoom way in to see the helicopter ... it's upside down.
A bit difficult to see, but you can tell that the helicopter is inverted.
And they're off!
