Planning begins for my 2nd annual trip to Phoenix. My company has an annual conference held for its customers, which I am supporting. After not riding for a while, I am looking forward to this trip.
I plan to depart on Friday afternoon and slab it on I-70 to Grand Junction, as depicted in the northern most route. Depending upon my arrival, I may try a detour on the Grand Mesa (not shown in route map).
Saturday, I will depart Grand Junction and head down the Delores River Canyon on highway 141, which I've heard is a fantastic motorcycle road. I will take a cut-off into Utah, and head towards Monument Valley. I went through here last year, on the return leg, but didn't take any pictures. This time I'm bringing the camera!
From Monument Valley, we head south-west, until I reach Highway 64, which I will take to the Grand Canyon. After a short, Chevy Chase-like view of the Grand Canyon, I head south to Flagstaff and Sedona. I will then cross I-17 and head for some more twisties to Payson, before arriving at my resort destination. Should be a good week! (Click on image to enlarge)
